Obituary

Alfred C. Eisenhut, 84, of Deansboro, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He was born June 1, 1925, in Utica, the son of the late Conrad and Mina Schneider Eisenhut. He was valedictorian of the Waterville Central School, class of 1943 and attended Utica College. On November 6, 1948, at the First Presbyterian Church of Waterville, he married Laura Alcott. She passed away December 26, 1981. On November 11, 1983, in Deansboro, he married Joyce Baker Poyer. Mr. Eisenhut was a life long dairy farmer in Deansboro, retiring in 1973. After his retirement, he worked as a Field Representative for the Sauquoit Valley Insurance, Co., again retiring in 2000. Mr. Eisenhut was a 50 plus year member and Past Master of Sanger Lodge #129 F & AM and served on the Board of Directors for the Sauquoit Valley Insurance, Co. from 2000-2009. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory and Kathleen Eisenhut of Mohawk and Keith and Benita Eisenhut of Deansboro; a step son, David Poyer of Alder Creek; a sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Fredolyn Zweifel of Waterville; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Eisenhut of Deansboro; eight grandchildren, Meredith, Clifford, Erika, Vanessa, John, Andrew, Robert and Jeffrey; two great grandsons, Jackson and Kevin; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Harry Eisenhut; and a step daughter, Katherine Spreter. A celebration of Alfred's life will be Wednesday morning at 10 at the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville, with his son, Gregory Eisenhut officiating. Interment will be in Deansboro Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday evening from 4-8. Members of Sanger Lodge #129 F & AM will meet Tuesday at 7:30 at the funeral home for ritualistic services.
