Anthony Alsante, at 84 years of age, entered eternal rest on December 23, 2019, at his home surrounded by friends in his final hours. He was born January 8, 1935, to Anthony and Fannie Alsante as one of four children, Anthony, Vincent, Rocco and Grace. Anthony is survived by his niece, Linda Dumas, who visited him often. Anthony attended Kernan Elementary School and then Utica Free Academy. He spent many enjoyable years living with Kathy Shepard until her death. Anthony was welcomed to the Gan Kavod family on October 15, 2003 where he remained until his passing. Anthony loved action movies and cars. He was an avid collector of Schultz and Dooley beer steins. Anthony also loved watching the birds, squirrels, and chipmunks in the yard. He will also be missed tremendously by his Gan Kavod family, whose hearts are saddened by his passing but know that when a cardinal appears our angel will be near. Services will be held Monday, December 30, 2019 at 1 pm in the lower chapel at Calvary Cemetery in New Hartford with Rev. Thomas Servatius officiating. Anthony will be laid to rest next to his parents. Arrangements are with Bentz Funeral Service, Inc., New Hartford.
