Obituary

Antoinette M. "Nettie" Nuccio, 95, of Whitesboro, passed away Monday July 6, 2015 at her home, with her loving family by her side. She was born January 27, 1920, in Rochester, the daughter of the late Dominick and Rose Gigliotti Minutti and was educated in Utica schools. On November 13, 1940, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Utica, she was married to her sweetheart Salvatore C. "Sam" Nuccio, a union of 54 years full of love and happiness. When they retired after working many years together at Sam Nuccio Wire Assemblely, they would spend winters in Florida. To them it was a second honeymoon. If you saw Sam you knew Nettie was right behind him. For Nettie and Sam, their happiness came from their children. Their Sunday's were a big day for them, because their children and families would come to enjoy Sunday dinner together. Her beloved Sam passed away on August 27, 1994. Nettie loved to work with her hands, always crocheting and embroidering. She will be deeply missed by her family. She is survived by three children and their spouses, Joseph and Joanne Nuccio of Schuyler, Roseanne and Ralph Migliaccio of Utica and Annette and Miguel Rivera of Whitesboro; a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Toni Minutti of Sauquoit; six grandchildren and their spouses, Dr. Salvatore and Lynn Nuccio, Rochelle and Michael Lynch, Ralph and Donna Migliaccio, Marissa Rivera, Migalina Rivera and Michael Rivera and his girlfriend, Sarah Buczek; nine great grandchildren, Joe, Salvatore, Lisa Marie, McKenna, Rhianna, Madison, Ella, Nico and Miguel; her in-laws, Dr. Dominick Nuccio, Mary Desjardins and Rose Nuccio; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her in-laws, Prosper Nuccio, David Desjardins and Yolanda Nuccio. The funeral will be Thursday at 12 noon from the Bentz Funeral Service, Inc., 13 Oxford Road, New Hartford and 1:00 pm from Historic Old St. John's Church, Utica, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 - 8 pm.
