Ardene A. Oakley, 77, formerly of 306 Gilmore Place, Utica, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2013, at St. Luke's Home. Ardene was born March 7, 1936, in Endicott, a daughter of the late Arden Oakley and Helen (Morton) Oakley Leonard. Ardene was known for her favorite angel which rode along with her everywhere, while she was in her wheelchair. She enjoyed socializing as well as watching movies on television and loved having her hair brushed. Ardene is survived by a sister, Lynda Stewart of Arizona; as well as her friends at Gilmore Place IRA. A service celebrating her life will be held at the residence on Monday, June 3rd at 2:30pm. Interment will be in the family plot at Vestal Hills Memorial Park in Vestal. Arrangements are under the guidance of the Bentz Funeral Service, Inc., Utica/New Hartford.
