Obituary

Arresto Avram, 88, father of Dr. Lee Avramidis of New Hartford, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Sitrin Health Care Center. Arresto was born on February 13, 1925, in Buffalo and soon after moved to Greece where he lived most of his life. Arresto was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He will be remembered for his undeniable charm and his boisterous, lovable personality. Arresto loved to spend time with his grandchildren, swimming in the Aegean Sea, gardening and building and maintaining homes. He enjoyed conversations and would often entertain friends and family at his home. His presence will be greatly missed, along with his enduring and playful nature. Arresto is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Georgia; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Lee and Athena Avramidis of New Hartford and Dean and Anastasia Avram of Clearwater, FL; his grandchildren, Georgiana (Avramidis) and Jesse Sullivan, Nassy Avramidis, Aristo and Amanda Avram and Dimitri Avram. Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the guidance of the Bentz Funeral Service, Inc., Utica/New Hartford.
