Obituary

Bertha E. Lancuski, 90, of Oriskany Falls, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2009 at the Siegenthaler Center of Hospice & Palliative, with her family by her side. She was born January 6, 1919, in New York Mills, the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Tomasik Ziemian and was educated in Utica schools. On February 21, 1939, in Utica, she married Matthew R. Lancuski. He passed away April 26, 2007. Bertha was of the Catholic faith. She was an avid bowler and golfer. At one time, for over 12 years, she held the Barker Brook Golf Course Women''''s Championship. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Wayne Shauger of Waterville; her sister and brother-in-law, Mildred (Mickey) and H.T. (Thomas) Cooley of Troy; her sister-in-law, Sadie Schram of Rochester; her grandchildren, Robin (Russ) Chatham of Kissimmee, FL, Randy (Teresa) Lancuski of Clearmont, FL, Renee Parker of Moorsville, NC, Ricky (Sheryl) Lancuski of Lakeland, FL, Tim (Janet) Bartlett of Sangerfield, Traci (Larry) Bartlett of Syracuse, Tina (Matt) Perrin of New Hartford and Tami Perrin of Clinton of Clinton; her great grandchildren, Joel, Grayson, Taylor, Tyler, Tara, Ciara, Jayden, Logan, Matt, Amanda, Chrisy, Paris and Page; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, William Lancuski; her brothers, Walter, John, Joseph and Stanley Ziemian; her sisters, Helen Lingerfelt, Mary Altier, Sally David; her great granddaughter, Jenna Bonet Parker; her nephew, Anthony James David; her great nephew, James Warren David; and her sisters-in-law, Sonia Pelczar and Rose Kopec. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Saturday, July 18 at 9:00 am at St. Bernard''''s Church, Waterville. Interment will be in St. Bernard''''s Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The family wishes thank the entire staff of the St. Luke''''s Home and the Harding Nursing Home for all their wonderful care and compassion. Arrangements are with the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, Waterville.
