Beverly S. Kloster passed away suddenly at home on January 29, 2021.
She was born in Utica on April 19, 1931, the daughter of the late Thomas Schug and Mildred Dent Schug. After graduating from St. Francis deSales High School, Bev married Francis J. Kloster on February 12, 1955 in Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Utica.
After living in New Hartford for many years, Fran and Bev retired to Kayuta Lake and enjoyed the North Country and all it had to offer. After several years, they returned to the Village of New Hartford.
Bev worked a variety of jobs until her retirement. During her life she was active in several organizations, including St. Patrick's Women's Club in Forestport (Past President), Christ Child Society, and Catholic Women's Club of Utica. She was a Parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in New Hartford. Bev was also a proud 45-year breast cancer survivor and participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Utica every year! She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who always had time to talk and see how everyone was doing.
Bev is survived by her daughter, Judy (Bob) Butler of Sauquoit; and sons, Dennis (Shari) of MD, Martin of Whitesboro, Steven (Helen) of TN, and Tim (Vickie) of NC. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and special nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Fran in 2019; sister, Mary Elizabeth Roberts; brother, Donald Schug, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Linda Kloster; and several brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law.
Bev's celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11 am at St. John the Evangelist Church, New Hartford. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Forestport.
