Carolyn B. Jones, 75, of Deerfield, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at her home. She was born June 9, 1939, in Utica, the daughter of the late Rudolph and Emelia Maziarz Jassak. She received her early education in a one room school house in Deerfield and graduated from Whitesboro Central School. On September 7, 1957, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, North Utica, she married Frederick C. Jones. At one time, Mrs. Jones was employed with the Whitesboro Central School District and later founded and co-owned Eternal Burial Vaults, Inc. She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and AARP. Carolyn's greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Fred; her daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Jerry Mack; her beloved grandson, Kevin "Baby Doll" Mack, all of Deerfield; her brother and sister-in-law, Edwin and Geraldine Jassak of McKeon, PA; her aunt, Jennie Maziarz of Utica; her Godmother, Gladys Spencer; and several nieces and nephews. Carolyn also leaves several cousins, especially Edward and Cathie Maziarz, Donald and Sue Maziarz and Sal and Chris Puleo, and their families; and also enjoyed the time she spent with her cousins, the Jassak's. She is further survived by her in-laws, Eleanor and Joseph Putney, Joseph and Elizabeth Jones, Mary and Paul Cook, Pat and Dick Roan and Nancy Jones; and her special friends, the Hajec family, JoAnne Mintel, Mary Brumbraugh, Joan and Don Doran, Louie Rice and her canine smoking buddy, Milu. She was predeceased by several aunts, uncles and cousins. The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 am from the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 40 Main Street, Whitesboro and 11 am from Holy Trinity Church, Utica, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus & Casimir Cemetery, Whitesboro. Calling hours are Monday from 5-8 pm. Arrangements are with the Bentz Funeral Service, Inc., New Hartford.
