Charles B. Schecter, 87, of Saratoga Springs, formerly of New Hartford, passed away Monday December 13, 2021 at Saratoga Hospital. He was born August 1, 1934, in Utica, the son of the late Paul and Celia Cramer Schecter. He was a graduate of UFA and was a US Army veteran. On July 15, 1962, in Syracuse, he married Myrna Rumaner. Charles took over Schecter's Menswear from his father, Paul, which was in operation for over 70 years. Charles was an active member of Temple Emanu-El and its Men's Club in Utica, holding several offices Besides his wife, Myrna; he is survived by three children, Stephen (Kimberlee Baltich) Schecter of Croton-On-Hudson, Debra Kiely of Averill Park and Paul Schecter of Yorkville; two sisters, Toby Bailin of Maryland and Dorothy Schnier of Florida; grandchildren Rebecca (Dru), Alexandra, Cecelia, Aaron, Rachel and Benton; great grandchildren, Kaden, Greyson and Ensley; and nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be Wednesday (today) at 2:30 pm at Temple Emanu-El Cemetery, Roberts Road, New Hartford, with Rabbi Henry Bamberger officiating.
