Obituary

Clifford I. Tyzick, 92, of North Brookfield, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2009 at the Harding Nursing Home. He was born June 9, 1917, in Boston, MA, the son of the late Wilmot and Evelyn Sampson Tyzick and received his education in Boston. He was a US Navy veteran of WW II. On September 1, 1939, at the Vernon Baptist Church in Vernon, he married Doris Clemens. For many years, Mr. Tyzick was a machinist at Bendix in Utica, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the North Brookfield Baptist Church and the Johnson-Rogers American Legion Post #1492. Mr. Tyzick was a well known area artist and loved the outdoors. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Doris; his daughter, Carol Merritt of Albany; his daughter-in-law, Claudia Tyzick of CA; two grandsons, Shawn Merritt of Utica and Michael Tyzick of CA; two great grandsons, Matthew and Shaun Tyzick of CA; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, The Rev. Ernest and Elrena Clemens of New Berlin; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. He was predeceased by his son, Charles. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his graveside service on Saturday at 1 pm at the North Brookfield Cemetery, with Pastor Edward Whitehead officiating. There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a time and date to be announced at the North Brookfield Baptist Church. The family and friends of Clifford wish to extend a special thank you to the entire staff of the Harding Nursing Home for their wonderful care and compassion extended to him and Doris. Arrangements are with the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, Waterville.
