Robert and Sandra Jastrab, of Whitesboro, NY, mourn the loss of their son, David of Silver Spring, MD, as the result of a train accident on July 30, 2009. David was born in Utica, NY on June 12, 1968. Besides his parents, he is survived by his sister Ann, her husband Todd Paonessa, and their son Luke, who reside in San Rafael, CA. David was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Bill and Bertha Kain of Melbourne, FL and his paternal grandparents, Casey and Betty Jastrab of Chicago, Ill. David graduated from Whitesboro High School, fifth in his class, in 1986. He earned his B.A. in psychology from the University of Maryland in December of 1989. In May of 1993, he received his Master's degree in social work from the University of Maryland. Although David worked at several jobs during his social work career, he spent the last twelve years working at Home Care Partner's, most recently as manager of Operations and Services. Home Health Care Partner's is a non-profit agency providing non-medical home care services to the elderly and individuals with disabilities. David made a lasting impression on all he met and was beloved by clients, staff and community partners. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
