Donald R. Doolen, 77, of New York Mills, left to join his devoted wife of 58 years, Ann Curtin Doolen, a true love affair, on Thursday, June 1, 2023.  Ann passed away on May 17, 2023.

He was born July 8, 1945 in Utica, the son of the late Robert and Lena Stanbrook Doolen.  Don was a proud truck driver for many years.  A devout Catholic, he was a parishioner of Historic Old St. John's Church.

He is survived by his two daughters, Elizabeth (Michael) Mitchell of Whitesboro and Marie (Todd) Masca of New York Mills; three loving grandsons, Michael Mitchell, Jr., Ryan Mitchell and Zachary Masca and his girlfriend, Nikole Walton; his sister-in-law, Cindy Jones of New Hartford; nieces and nephews; and special friends, Nick and Barb LoGalbo, Charlie Kinney, Jack Jackson and Mark Bentz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 7 at 10 am at Historic Old St. John's Church, Utica.  Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro.  The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of Mass.
