Dorace G. Newman, 92, of Danvers, MA, formerly of Utica, passed away May 2, 2018 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was born February 17, 1926, in Utica, the daughter of the late Myron and Sarah Sherman Greenburg. She was educated in Utica Schools and received a certificate in Physical Therapy. For many years, along with her late husband Jerry, she operated Newman Fur's on James Street in Utica. She was a life member of Hadassah, was a member of Temple Emanu-El and its Sisterhood, the Yahnundasis Golf & Country Club as well as the former Higby Hills Country Club. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stuart and Katherine Newman of Ipswich, MA; two grandsons, Matthew Newman and Jonathan Newman of Danvers, MA and their respective spouses Robyn and Anna; her great grandson, Charles Newman of Danvers, MA; her sister, Muriel Wyner of Philadelphia, PA, formerly of New Hartford; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Newman in 2002; and her son, Robert Newman in 1995. Graveside services will be private.
