Elaine Pollicove Kelberman, 86, of Orlando, Florida, formerly of Utica, passed away on Wednesday June 24, 2015. Elaine was born September 10, 1928, in Utica. She was the oldest of seven children of the late Carolyn and Max Pollicove. She was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. On May 28, 1950, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Gerald Kelberman. His sense of humor never failed to amuse her. It was a wonderful union lasting 65 years. Elaine worked for many years at Temple Emanu-El and for the Oneida County Office of the Aging. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who helped raise many of her young siblings due to the untimely death of her mother. She served as the matriarch of the family with grace and love. She is survived by her loving husband, Gerald (Gerry); two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Michael Kelberman and Jennifer of New Hartford and Marshall Kelberman and Lisa of Orlando, Florida; and a son-in-law, Stephen Plunkett of Orlando, Florida. She is also survived by six beloved grandchildren, Matthew, Megan, Madison, Emily, Caroline and Harrison. In addition, she leaves behind her sister, Phyllis Raimone; and sisters-in-law, Kit and Helen Pollicove. Elaine was predeceased by her daughter, Karen Plunkett; as well as her siblings, Alan, Harvey, Leonard, Shirley and Betty. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Temple Emanu-El Cemetery, New Hartford. Arrangements are with the Bentz Funeral Service, Inc., New Hartford.
