Obituary

Frances M. Trunfio Arcuri passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Friday, March 16, 2018. Frances was born on March 8, 1920 in Utica, the daughter of the late Antonio and Fortunata (LoFaro) Trunfio. On March 4, 1946, she was united in marriage to Ferdinando (Fred) Arcuri in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, a blessed union of 47 years prior to his passing on September 30, 1993. Frances was a proud graduate of Utica Free Academy, Class of 1938, as well as a member of the Alumni Association. Frances was active for many years in the DAV Auxiliary #82 and the Fort Schuyler Post. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish and it's St. Ann's society and bible study groups. On April 25, 1995, she professed in the Secular Franciscan Order of St. Anthony's Church in Utica. Frances was an avid gardener and lover of all animals as was her patron saint, St. Francis of Assisi. For many years she enjoyed the companionship of her cherished dog Jessie. She is survived by her beloved children, Michael and Mary Ellen (Belmont) Arcuri, Anthony and Rosemarie (Napoli) Arcuri and Anita Marchio and Gino Maggio; her grandchildren, Melissa Arcuri and her partner Jesse Moore, Allison and Eric Jackson, Frederick and Amy Arcuri, Samuel and Shana Marchio, Kathryn Arcuri, Francesca and Ryan McBride, Cara and Jason Musits and Michael Marchio; her great-grandchildren, Antonio, Claire, Ella, Nina, Emma, Madeline, Samuel and Mia; her sisters, Anna Femia, Yolanda Convertino and Antoinette Obernesser; her brother, Dr. Nino and Muriel Trunfio; her in-laws, Betty Arcuri and Kathleen Arcuri; many loved and cherished nieces and nephews of the Trunfio and Arcuri families; her Cucinotta cousins; her Godchildren; and many dear friends. She is predeceased by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. Joseph and Luisa Trunfio and Anthony and Betty Trunfio; sisters and brother-in-law, Angela and Phil Colacicco and Josephine Trunfio; brothers-in-law, Vincent Femia, David Obernesser, Roger Convertino, Dominick and Filomena Arcuri, Carmen Arcuri and Bruno Arcuri; sister-in-law, Rose Arcuri; and her loving son-in-law, Samuel J. Marchio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11:30 am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. There are no public calling hours. Arrangements are with Bentz Funeral Service, Inc., 13 Oxford Road, New Hartford.
