Gail P. Bishop, 62, of Waterville, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side on Thursday, February 12, 2009, at her home, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born November 19, 1946, in Utica, the daughter of the late T. Gerard and Blodwin Williams Manahan and was educated in Utica schools. On March 25, 1982, in Waterville, she married Edward L. Bishop. Gail was a dedicated home maker and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, whose life truly revolved around her family. Gail had a great love for her pets and was always supporting her grandchildren by attending their sporting events. She is survived by her husband, Ed; four children, Scott Truitt of Clinton, Todd and Beverly (Beaulac) Truitt of Clinton, Kristen Truitt of Waterville and Andrew and Megan (Niezgodzki) Zuccaro of Lyons Falls; two step children, Melissa and Matthew King of Bridgewater and Michael and Michelle (Schmelzlie) Bishop of Ilion; 11 grandchildren, Jared, Jordan, Troy, Isaiah and Kaia Henderson, Siena Truitt, Courtney, Zachary and Edward King and Michael and Paige Bishop; two sisters, Mary Lou Ashwell of Sauquoit and Sheila Manahan of Utica; one brother, Charles Manahan of Clearwater, FL; a sister-in-law, Carol and Robert McFarland of Utica; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 am at St. Bernard's Church, Waterville. Spring interment will be in Deansboro Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 3-6 pm at the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville.
