Gregory Gallagher passed away on July 23, 2025, at Wynn hospital. He was born on May 22, 1949, to his loving parents Edward & Eleanor (Leach) Gallagher in Utica NY. Gregeory was a graduate of Proctor High School and went on to gain employment at Chicago Market grocery store. Greg spent time with Catholic Charities before placement within the DDSO at Westmoreland Rd IRA in 2009, he attended day hab at Riverside ARC for many years where he formed many bonds until his retirement in 2020.

Gregory was full of personality, wearing his heart and emotions on his sleeve. He had a feisty, strong-willed spirit with a great sense of humor that could quickly win over most hearts with his infectious laugh and sweet smile. Greg had a love of music, you would often find him tapping his feet while listening to the radio, singing all the words to his favorite tunes from Elvis, Johnny Cash, and The Beatles.  Greg was a true gentleman and was at his best in a necktie, hat, and holding a beloved watch. His love for his family was evident in the twinkle in his eye he would get when his brother Mike would stop by for a visit, whenever he received a postcard from his sister Bridget, or a phone call from his niece Heather. He shared a very special bond with his housemate of many years Kathy, he was her "Luski"; as well as a friendship with his housemate Erik, who lovingly referred to him as "Grandpa". Greg was adored by the many staff and clinical team members that worked with him throughout the years at Westmo, he was a light that left a lasting impression on so many, and he will be so very deeply missed.

Greg is survived by his brother, Mike Gallagher (Patricia Russell); sister, Bridget Gallagher; a niece and nephews, Heather Gallagher, Christopher (Ursula)Gallagher, Rory Smith (Aigerim Saparova-Smith) & Patrick Smith (Maragret Bryant); as well as great nieces and nephews, Hunter Gallagher, Daniel Gallagher, Meghan Gallagher, Sophia Gallagher, Timur Sapar-Smith & Dariya Sapar-Smith. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward & Eleanor Gallagher; as well as his nephew, Michael Gallagher.

Services will be held at the Mark C. Bentz Funeral Service, Inc.,13 Oxford Road, New Hartford on Friday August 1, 2025 at 11am. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Utica.
