Harold F. Glueck, 76, of New Hartford, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare. He was born November 29, 1939, in Syosset, Long Island the son of the late Harry and Dora Whidden Glueck. Harold received his undergraduate degree at Hofstra University and received his Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Connecticut. His formative years took place on Long Island and he and his first wife raised their family in central Maine. Mr. Glueck worked as a social worker in various capacities in both Maine and New York. On February 6, 1999, in New Hartford, he married Barbara Stevens Schmidt. He is survived by his wife, Barbara of New Hartford; a daughter, Lauren Glueck and her partner, Henry Poirer of Waterville, ME; a son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Valerie Glueck of Oakland, ME; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Carole Ann Glueck of Winterport, ME; a stepson and daughter-in-law, C. Edward and Robyn Schmidt of New Hartford; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Jim Dehm of Oswego; and six grandchildren, Molly, Ethan, Eddie, Kaitlin, Christina and Anne Marie. He was predeceased by a sister, Marguerite Hellmann. Services will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with the Bentz Funeral Service, Inc., New Hartford.
