IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Helen J.
(Mechanye) Moran
November 8, 1943 – January 24, 2023
CLINTON – Helen J. (Bause) Moran, 79, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare with her family at her side. Helen was born on November 8, 1943, in Renovo, PA, the daughter of the late Victor and Pearl Mechanye. Helen was married to Robert Bause, Sr. on January 22, 1966, until his passing on September 1, 1984. She was united in marriage to Robert J. Moran on October 4, 1986, a union that lasted until his passing on April 3, 2019. Helen was employed at Blue Cross Blue Shield from 1977 until her retirement in 1999.
She enjoyed reading, solving word puzzles, decorating her home, and spending time with her grandchildren. One of her lifelong passions was watching the soap opera Days of our Lives. Although Helen enjoyed preparing her home for each of the holidays, her favorite holiday was most definitely Christmas. Her Christmas gift search odyssey often began early in the year, with much loving thought being given to every gift she purchased for each person on her Christmas list.
She is survived by her four children, Robert (Marilynn) Bause, Jr, of Naples, FL, Richard Bause, of Utica, Cynthia Weber, of Cicero, and Joseph (Kirsten) Bause, of Las Vegas, NV; one stepson, Edward P. Moran of Utica, NY; eight grandchildren, Charis and Caleb Bause, Nathan and Nicholas Weber and their father, Tim Weber; Zachary Bause; and Edward, Robert and Breanna Moran; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her five siblings, Wayne, Ken, and Bob Schmoke, Chuck Mechanye and Nancy Britt; and one stepdaughter, Deborah Varin. Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at the Mark C. Bentz Funeral Service, Inc., 13 Oxford Road, New Hartford, NY, followed by a service at 1 p.m. Interment will be private in Forest Hill Cemetery, Utica, NY.
In lieu of flowers, kindly consider contributions in Helen's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The family wishes to thank the staff of Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare ICU for Helen's care. To express sympathy, please visit bentzfuneralhomes.com.
