Homer A. Keith, 81, of Mason Rd., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at his home, with his family by his side. He was born August 31, 1927, in North Brookfield, the son of the late George W. and Bertha Pope Keith and was educated at the Cole Hill Schoolhouse and Waterville Central School. On February 24, 1946, in Madison, he married his beloved Belle Maine. Mr. Keith was a life long dairy farmer. For over 40 years he was a board member for the Sauquoit Valley Insurance Company. Affectionately known as the team of "Homer and Belle", he worked side by side with his wife. His life revolved around his family and his farm. He is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Belle; six children and their spouses, Patricia and David Marcellus of Cookeville, TN, Dennis and Lynn Keith of Waterville, Tari and Randy Cattelane of Syracuse, George F. and Laurie Keith of Waterville, Connie and Bill King of Old Forge and Mark and Linda Keith of Waterville; a special son and daughter-in-law, Kim and Melinda McIntyre of Waterville; 21 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Fred and George Keith; and four sisters, Alice Martin, Alma Crumb, Cordelia Wratten and Florence Slate. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 3 pm at the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville, with Hospice Chaplain Brian Palmer officiating. Calling hours are Saturday from 1-3, prior to the service.
