Howard R. (Mike) Fox, 59, of State Route 315, Deansboro, passed away Monday, January 4, 2010, at his home, with his family by his side. He was born May 16, 1950, in Utica, the son of Lorraine DeCarr Fox Gallup and the late Howard L. Fox and was educated in Waterville schools. For many years, Mike was a dump truck driver and tow truck operator and also did auto body repair work at Walt's Body Shop, Kallies Collision and Midland Collision. At one time, he was also an EMT with Fiore's Ambulance Service and Vineall Ambulance Service. Mike was a former member, EMT and officer with the Waterville Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the Waterville Fire Department. Mike was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed participating in go-cart racing, dwarf car racing, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his mother, Lorraine Gallup of Deansboro; a daughter, Laurie Gaut of Vernon; a son, Howard (Mikey) Fox, Jr. of Vernon; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Al Vincent of Deansboro and Bonnie and John Raschella of Clinton; five grandchildren, Blake, Damien, Robert, Skye and Terry Rose; six nieces and nephews, Heather, Danielle, Andrew, Tyler, Patrick and Brady; three great nieces and nephews, Joseph, III, Logan and Karleigh; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his step father, David Gallup. The funeral will be Friday at 10 am at the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville, with Pastor Tim Bejian officiating. Spring interment will be in Deansboro Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7 pm. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Michele Misiaszek and all the girls at Outpatient Infusion at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center, for all their wonderful and compassionate care given to Mike.
