Hoy R. Helmick, 89, formerly of Utica, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center. He was born March 23, 1920 in Pickens, WV. He was a US Army Veteran of WW II. In 1945 he married Rose Marie Sacco. She passed away in 2000. Mr. Helmick was employed by Central NY Railroad and Dairylea. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Helmick of Utica. A memorial service will be held Thursday evening at 7 o'clock at the City Hope Fellowship-Four Square Gospel, 1415 Sunset Ave., Utica. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with the Bentz & Amodio Funeral Service, Inc., 470 French Rd., Utica/New Hartford.
