Irene E. Ellis, 83, of Oriskany Falls, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton, with her husband by her side. She was born February 17, 1926, in Glenwood, NJ, the daughter of the late Martin and Mary Sweezy Titsworth and received her education in Glenwood and Oriskany Falls schools. On November 14, 1969, in New Hartford, she married Robert J. Ellis. For over 20 years, Mrs. Ellis was employed as the Director of Building Services at The Faxton Hospital in Utica, retiring in 1988. She is survived by her husband of almost 40 years, Robert; four children, Lynne and Edwin Warner of Clinton, Ellis and Jerry Noe of Kim, CO, Valarie and Ronald Schenk of Deansboro and Jean Folts and Robert Dougherty of Hubbardsville; a step daughter, Roberta and Jim McMann of Utica; a brother, Martin and Eleanora Titsworth of Arizona City, AZ; a sister-in-law, Mary Titsworth of Eustis, FL; a brother-in-law, George Vance of Sussex, NJ; her former husband, Gordon Folts of Verona; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Catherine Folts; a sister, Doris Vance; and a brother, Donald Titsworth. Services will be Wednesday evening at 7 o''clock at the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville, with Pastor Rick Andrew officiating. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, NJ. Calling hours are Wednesday from 5-7, prior to the service.
