James Karl (Kizzer) Olmstead, 52, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday July 14, 2012 at his home. He was born July 30, 1959, in Lowville, the son of Martha Olmstead Gokey and the late James Kizzer. Jim worked at the Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center in Utica and formerly owned Rosato's Bakery in Utica. Jim was a huge Minnesota Vikings fan and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, opera, music, cooking, baking, fishing, golfing and spending time with his loved ones. He is survived by his mother, Martha Gokey; three daughters, Jamie (Olmstead) and Stephen Budlong; Debra and Rich Nasbe, Jr. and Elizabeth Olmstead; nine grandchildren, Arionna, Alexis, Elissiah, Richard, Isabella, Daniel, William, Murayah and Angelisah; a brother, David Bumsted; five sisters, Roberta Ryan, Melissa Hillage, Jennifer Moscarelli, Echo Kizzer and Victori Alvarez; his fiancee and companion, Gina Raffule Roberts; the mother of his children, Gina Mott Olmstead; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and his canine companion, JD. Besides his father, he was predeceased by a granddaughter, Gianna Rose; and a sister, Debra Leigh. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7 pm at the Bentz & Amodio Funeral Service, Inc., 470 French Road, Utica/New Hartford. A prayer service will be offered at the conclussion of calling hours by Rev. Anthony LaFache.
