Obituary

Clinton James F. (Jim) Pacelli, 61, of Clinton, passed away Thursday April 17, 2008 at the Faxton-St. Lukes Healthcare Center, with his family and friends by his side, after a brief illness. He was born January 21, 1947, in Rome, the son of the late Michael and Bernice Reigler Pacelli. Jim was a graduate of Rome High School, Morrisville State College and received his Bachelor's degree in business administation and accounting from Oklahoma State University. On April 24, 1970, at St. John the Evangelist Church, New Hartford, he married Jill P. Tenbrink, a loving union of 38 years. From 1970-1976, he served with the National Guard. Jim held several executive positions with the Utica National Insurance Co. in New Hartford, prior to opening James Pacelli Accounting in Waterville. He had a great love for horses and for many years trained horses and coached riders to many state, regional and national titles through the American Paint Horse Association. For several years, Jim served as treasurer and was a past president of the Empire State Paint Horse Club and also served as financial consultant to the Clinton Comets. He was an Eagle Scout and was a member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity and the NATP Association. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jill; two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Bob and Sue Tenbrink of New Hartford and Les Tuthill of Oneida; his faithful canine companion of 13 years, Sam; special friends, Scott, Tina and Alice Smith, Ken Morris, Laurel Landphere, Walt Zainchowski, Ruth Murray and Meghan Shaw; Jim and Jills extended family, the Riley's and LePorte's; as well as many, many close friends, neighbors and clients, too numerous to mention. He was predeceased by a sister, Beverly Tuthill. The funeral will be Tuesday morning at 10 at the Bentz & Amodio Funeral Service, Inc., 470 French Rd., Utica/New Hartford, with The Rev. Laurie Percival-Pauley officiating. Interment will be in Green Lawn Cemetery, New Hartford. Calling hours are Monday evening from 4-7. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the entire staff of the Faxton-St. Lukes Healthcare Center ICU, Dr. David Petrie and Dr. Kevin Nelson, for all their wonderful care and compassion.
