Jeanette C. (Jean) Casey, 83, of Zephyrhills, FL, formerly of Utica, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the Gulfside Regional Hospice. She was born August 1, 1927, in Utica, the daughter of the late Leo and Ella Reece Barnhart and was educated in Utica schools. On April 3, 1948, in Historic Old St. John's Church, Utica, she married Gerald J. (Jerry) Casey, a loving union of over 62 years. Besides her husband, Jerry; she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Agostino Aiello of Utica; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Barbara Casey of Utica; a sister, Marjorie Downs of Whitesboro; three brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Austin and Margaret Casey of Utica, James Casey of Ilion and Edward McCarthy of Utica; five grandchildren, including Augie (Lisa) Aiello, Jerry Aiello and Sal Aiello; three great grandchildren, Jacob, Noah and Ava; and several nieces and nephews, especially, Marilyn St. John, Carol (Blase) Chiarello and Linda (Paul) Scata. She was predeceased by two brothers, Leo Barnhart, Jr. and Charles Barnhart. The funeral will be Thursday morning at 8:45 from the Bentz & Amodio Funeral Service, Inc., 470 French Rd., Utica/New Hartford and 9:30 from the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday evening from 5-7.
