Jeanette J. "Jean" Tomaino, 89, of Utica, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018 at the Presbyterian Home for CNY, with her loving family by her side. She was born June 26, 1929, in Utica, the daughter of the late Frank and Maria Theresa Gigliotti Tomaino and attended Proctor High School. For many years, she worked in the meat department at Chicago Market. She was a parishioner of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Jean was a loving sister ,aunt, great aunt and godmother. She is survived by four sisters and a brother-in-law, Angela Shaw of Utica, Lillian Hajec of Deerfield, Shirley Dooley of New Hartford and Bernice and Al Stalker of Deerfield; her sister-in-law, Marion Tomaino of Utica; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Jean was predeceased by three brothers and a sister-in-law, Frank and Mary Tomaino, Angelo Tomaino and Richard Tomaino; her sister and four brothers-in-law, Sarah and Frank Cole, Albert Shaw, Edward Hajec and Jack Dooley; and her fiancé, Dominick Russo. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 2:00 pm at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish, Utica. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The family wishes to thank the entire staff of the Presbyterian Home, especially the Maple Unit, for all the love and care they provided to Jean.
