Jessie H. Green, 76, of Utica, passed away Tuesday July 2, 2013 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, with his family by his side. He was born April 19, 1937, in Griffin, GA, the son of the late Willie Reed and Luna Holland Green. Mr. Green was employed as a molder for Utica Radiator Corp., prior to his retirement. Jessie met his beloved Gloria Lee Barnes in 1969 and were married on June 16, 1990. Jessie was a member of the NRA and the Cornhill Fish & Game Club, was an avid bowler and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Gloria; five children, Betty Jean (Thomas) Williams, Jessie Lee (Vanessa) Green, Willie Reed Green, Joseph Allen (Anita) Barnes and Veronica Ann (Myron) Bennett, all of Utica; a brother, Willie Joe (Geraldine) Green of Utica; two sisters in Georgia, Betty and Andrea; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and in-laws. He was predeceased by a daughter, Evelyn; and two sisters, Evelyn and Rose. Services will be Monday at 1 o'clock at the Bentz Funeral Service, Inc., 470 French Road, Utica/New Hartford, with Rev. George Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 11-1, prior to the service.
