John "Corky" A. Corcoran Marcy Mr. John "Corky"A. Corcoran, 63, a resident of Marcy, entered into eternal life at his home, with his loving family at his bedside on Saturday, August 9, 2008 after a brief illness. He was born on June 27, 1945, in Scranton, PA, the son of the late John J. and Johanna E. Rescorla Corcoran. Corky was a graduate of Rome City schools, Rome, NY. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. On Septmeber 29, 1973, he married Karen S. Barolet in Grace Church, Utica. Corky was employed as a Development Assistant Supervisor with the Rome DDSO and ran their Powell Road home. He was an avid bowler and took great pride in coaching baseball and softball for his childrens' teams. Corky's other love was riding his motorcycle. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen; his daughter, Shannon K. Corcoran of Rome; his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Chad A. and Dana Allard Corcoran of Syracuse; his brother and sister-in-law, Richard N. and Carole Corcoran of Salt Springs, FL; his nephews and their spouses, Alan Corcoran, Richard and Angela Corcoran and Shawn and Ann Corcoran; his brother-in-law and his family, Gregory Barolet and his best friends and canine companions, Summer and Scooter. The funeral will be held 11AM, Wednesday at St. John
