John J. Coppins, Jr., 64, of Yorkville, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, with his wife Renee by his side. He was born June 19, 1954, in Huntington, Long Island, the son of the late John J., Sr. and Mary Ann Devlin Coppins. In 2005 he married Renee M. Hall Bona. John was a free spirit, lived life to the fullest, had the gift of gab, enjoyed golfing and reading, loved riding his motorcycle and animals, and was proud of his Irish heritage. But most of all, John loved his family. He is now enjoying the company of his two dogs, Flash and Kash. He is survived by his wife of almost 14 years, Renee; his daughter and two granddaughters, Kelly Coppins and McKenna Grace and Jordyn Riley, all of NJ; three sisters, Maryanne Coppins, Noreen (Paddy) Cribbin and Kerry (Larry) Bracken, all of Huntington; two sisters-in-law, Lynda Briggs of Remsen and Tracey (Joe) Pietruszka of Rome; his brother-in-law, Richard (Stacey) Hall of PA; his nieces and nephews, Sean (Molly), Brenden, Alanna, Kelly, Ryan, Jack, Angelina (Justin), Victoria, Brandon, Holly and Matt; a special lifelong friend, Bob Pittel; and his feline companions, Mama Kitty, Tommie and Boggie. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 24 at 11 am at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Burrstone Road, New Hartford. The family will greet visitors at the conclusion of the Mass. Arrangements are with the Bentz Funeral Service, Inc., New Hartford.
