Mr. John J. Green, 68, of Bay Village, OH, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2009, in St. John West Shore Hospital, Westlake, OH. He was born on September 9, 1941, in Utica, NY, the first son of the late John and Ann Lynch Green. He graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes School and Utica Catholic Academy, class of 1959. He was an alumnus of Mount St. Mary's University, Emmittsburg, MD. He was a US Army veteran. In his youth, he was quite a baseball player, starting with the "famous" King Cole Little League Team. In September 1970, he married Karen Otto of Shaker Heights, OH. She survives him. He retired from the Travelers Corporation as a manager in the Heathcare Division in the Cleveland, OH, area. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Christopher and Gina Green of Westlake, OH and Brian Green of Bay Village, OH; three grandchildren, Aidan, Claire and Moira Green of Westlake, OH; and three sisters and a brother, Maureen and Robert Pritchard of Clinton, NY, Nora and Daniel Gossin of Olney, MD, Marie and Russell Connors of Independence, KY and Martin Green of Utica, NY. He was predeceased by his parents; his sister Nancy, in 1990; two infant brothers, Brian Anthony and Michael; and his in-laws, Dr. and Mrs. John Otto. His burial will take place in the Green Family's cemetery, St. Bernard's Cemetery, Waterville, NY, on Wednesday, November 4, at 10 a.m. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernard's Church, Waterville. Arrangements are with the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, Waterville.
