Judi M. Piechowicz, 60, of Bridgewater, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center, with her family by her side. She was born January 8, 1950, in Utica, the daughter of the late William, Sr. and Damaris Cowles DeKing and was educated in Oriskany Falls schools. On July 31, 1976, in Oriskany Falls, she married Jim D. Piechowicz. Judi's family was the center of her life. She was a member and current president of the Bridgewater Fire Department Auxiliary, was a member of the Bridgewater Congregational Church and was a former member of the Oriskany Falls Fire Department Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, Jim; six children and their spouses, Kelly and Kelly Barney, Rebecca and Michael Bailey, Billie Jo and Jason Truax, Robert Piechowicz, Spring and Jody Weidman, and Jim, Jr. and Jessica Piechowicz; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Phyllis Shepard, and Wendy and Les Pratt; one brother and sister-in-law, William, Jr. and Dale DeKing; 15 grandchildren, Amanda, Joel, Andrienna, Dalton, Cassy, Timothy, Nicholas, Damaris, Levi, Robert, Jr., J David, Brock, Daniel, Christopher, and Cole; two and a half great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her special canine companion, Brady. She was predeceased by one brother, Willis DeKing, Sr.; and her nephew, Willis DeKing, Jr. The funeral will be Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville, with Pastor Doug Satterlee officiating. Spring interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Oriskany Falls. Calling hours are Saturday from 1-4, prior to the service.
