Kenneth J. Cavanaugh, 67, formerly of Rome, passed away Friday, June 5, 2015 at the home of his sister Carol. He was born June 4, 1948, in Rome, the son of the late Charles and Doris Bourgeois Cavanaugh. He was a graduate of RFA, Class of 1966 and was a former member of the Army National Guard. At one time, Kenneth was a crane operator with Revere Copper & Brass in Rome. Ken enjoyed bowling. He is survived by three sisters, Charlotte Fisher of Rome, Joan Tonon of Syracuse and Carol (Ronald) Walker of Verona; a brother, Charles Cavanaugh of Rome; a brother-in-law, Donald Early of Rome; two children, Kristen and Michael; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, David Cavanaugh; and a sister, Cathy Early. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:30 am from St. Mary's/St. Peter's Parish, Rome. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Rome. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Bentz Funeral Service, Inc., New Hartford.
