Obituary

On July 1, 2025, Linda was called home to join her family in heaven after a peaceful passing at Wynn Hospital.  She was born in Utica on July 17, 1948 to George and Vivian (Harp) Dape.  Linda graduated from New York Mills Jr-Sr High School, Class of 1967.

After graduation, Linda was employed with St. Luke's Memorial Hospital Center as a unit secretary in the pediatrics department for 42 years, a fitting job because of her love for children.  At one time, she was married to Lloyd Mahl.  She was a communicant of Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, Our Lady of the Rosary Campus, where she sang in the church choir for many years.

After retirement, Linda was a nanny to her good friend Courtney's two sons, Parker and Chase Ortiz.  She belonged to the New York Mills Senior Citizens.  She also had a love for golf and played for many years on a league with her friends.  Linda especially enjoyed playing bingo and slots at various casinos.

Linda leaves two sisters and a brother-in-law, Georgianne and Vincent Pirillo of Utica and Marianne Dape of New York Mills; a niece, Katrina Pirillo of Westmoreland; a nephew, Eric Pirillo of Lee Center; and many beloved cousins on both the Dape and Harp sides.  She also leaves dear friends, Mary Lane, Courtney Ortiz, Diane Mullaly and Renee Azzarito-Larkin; as well as her friends from golf and the senior center.

The family wishes to thank all the nurses and doctors for their exceptional care on the 5th, 8th and especially 3rd floor east intensive care units at Wynn Hospital.  They also wish to thank Father Bart Okere and especially Father Marian Pociecha, hospital chaplains for their comfort and spiritual care.

A Mass will be offered on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 12 pm at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, Our Lady of the Rosary Campus, New Hartford.  Calling hours will be Friday from 10 am-12 pm at the church.  Interment will be at the family's convenience at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Yorkville.

Arrangements are with the Mark C. Bentz Funeral Service, Inc., New Hartford.
