Miss Marion E. Miars, 89, of Madison St., passed away Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the Harding Nursing Home. She was born May 21, 1919, in Utica, the only child of the late Fred and Adah Pray Miars and stepdaughter of the late Stuart Leworthy. She was a graduate of Waterville Central School and attended SUNY Morrisville and Syracuse University. For many years, Miss Miars was a dietician at Broadacres SNF in Deerfield, retiring in 1975. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Waterville. Surviving Miss Miars are her cousins, Raymond Pray DVM of Batavia, Weston Pray of Baldwinsville, Marguerite Knapp of Waterville, Albert Miar of Clinton, Richard Miar of Whitesboro and Donald Jennings of Lairdsville; as well as several other cousins residing locally. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 am at the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville, with Pastor Genett Timlin officiating. Interment will be in Waterville Cemetery. A calling hour will be held Saturday from 10-11, prior to the service.
