Marjorie Atkinson, 91, formerly of Sidney, passed away Monday, January 12, 2009 at the NYS Veterans Home at Oxford. She was born February 19, 1917, in Oneonta, the daughter of the late Adolphus and Madeline Lyon Hewell and was educated in Oneonta schools. In 1955, in Montrose, PA, she married Robert E. Atkinson. He passed away January 13, 2004. For many years, Mrs. Atkinson was employed with Scintilla in Sidney. She was of the Episcopal faith. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Thomas (Carolyn) Wilson; four grandchildren, Sharene Jones, Patricia Humphrey, Leslie Wilson and Erica Wilson; and a great granddaughter, Haley Ann Humphrey, all of VA; and several nieces and nephews. As per her wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Arrangements are with the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, Waterville.
