Obituary

Mary C. Carlesimo, 95, who resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Linda Nole-Knight and Richard Knight in New Hartford, entered into eternal life, Sunday, June 17, 2012, at the Siegenthaler Center, with her loving family by her side. Mary was born on August 28, 1916, the daughter of Joseph and Philomena Asselta Lauria. She was a graduate of Utica Free Academy and a parishioner of Historic Old St. John's Church. On September 14, 1940, she married the love of her life, Frank Carlesimo, in which they shared 51 blessed years. Frank passed away on April 13, 1991. To all of her family, she was a gentle, loving mother, wife and grandmother. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, gentle nature and loving warmth to her family. Mary was predeceased by her baby daughter, Deborah, and her sons-in-law, Joseph Saporito, Richard Lewis and Robert Ciancaglini. Also predeceasing her are her parents, in-laws and eight siblings. Surviving are her five daughters, Betty Saporito and Jim Whitaker, Kentucky, Fay Ciancaglini and special friend, Frank Ferraro, New Hartford, Joyce and Ralph Squillace, Marcy, Linda Nole-Knight and Richard Knight, New Hartford, and Gail Lewis and John Malozzi, New Hartford; 18 grandchildren, Frank and Kim Saporito, Joe Saporito, Maria Chapman, Kim and Chris Newton, Michael and Louanna Ciancaglini, Laurie Schoen, Robert and Sandy Ciancaglini, Loren and Madan Achuri, Kristin and Nikhil Hattiangadi, Danielle and Charlie Digristina, Dean and Nicole Nole, Jason and Kristy Nole, Richard Knight and Annmarie Dorsagno, Lynne and Mike Doolen, Kelly and Ernie Talerico, Kristie Lewis, Loretta Yaddo, John and Rocco Malozzi. She also leaves 38 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and caregivers at the Siegenthaler Center for their excellent care, Dr. Thomas John and staff, Kathy Davis and Father John Buehler, Father Joseph Salerno and Father James Cesta. Mary''s funeral will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012, at 9:15 a.m. from Bentz & Amodio Funeral Service, Inc., 470 French Rd., Utica/New Hartford, and at 10:00 a.m at Historic Old St. John''s Church, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. John Buehler. Calling hours for family and friends will be held on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
