Maryrose A. Slover, 78, of Sunnyside Dr., passed away Monday, October 13, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. She was born July 22, 1930, in Utica, the only child of the late Daniel Benzo and Mary Paternoster Benzo Zammiello and was a graduate of Proctor High School. In 1951, in Utica, she married Govoneur S. Slover, a loving union of 57 years, until his passing on April 19 of this year. At one time, Mrs. Slover was employed as a ward secretary at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was a parishioner of the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes and was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis. Maryrose was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother with a strong belief in her faith. She is survived by four children, Thomas G. Slover of Utica, Ron Slover of Utica, Gerard and Michelle Slover of MA and Luciemarie and Christopher Sturtevant of SC; an aunt, Angeline Paternoster of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of New Hartford; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral will be Saturday at 8:45 am from the Bentz & Amodio Funeral Service, Inc., 470 French Rd., Utica/New Hartford and 9:30 am from the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 4-7 pm.
