Myrtleann Doolen Thomas Seifried, 84, of Poland, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, with her family by her side. She was born December 7, 1937, in Utica, the daughter of the late Robert and Lena Stanbrook Doolen. She attended Utica schools and graduated from Nurse's training in 1966. At one time she was married to the late Robert J. Thomas, Sr. In 1987, she married Everett D. "Skip" Seifried. He passed away in 2014. Myrtleann was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Faxton Hospital for many years. She also worked for several area doctors and the Central New York DDSO. She volunteered at Hope House, Abraham House, Hospice & Palliative Care and worked part-time at the Utica Rescue Mission. Myrtleann is survived by three sons, Robert J. (Tina Carey) Thomas, Jr. of Marcy, Donald R. Thomas of Utica and Michael O. (Celeste Witchley) Thomas of New Hartford; a brother, Donald R. (Ann) Doolen of New York Mills; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend that was a great help to her, Shari Taylor. She was predeceased by her siblings, Emily, Robert, Mabel, Charles, William, Patricia and infants, George Patrick and Timothy James. Per her wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
