Richard P. "Dick" Newell, 78, of Holyoake, MA, formerly of Utica, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023.

He was born May 8, 1945, in Utica, the son of the late William F., Sr. and Furn Thompson Newell.  Dick served in the US Army from 1962-1965, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam and was the recipient of the Bronze Star.  He was a security guard with L.B. Security in Utica.

Dick is survived by a sister, Janet R. Gilberti of Utica; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Newell of Utica; and several nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, William F. Newell, Jr.; and a sister and two brothers-in-law, Betty and Ronald Biamonte and Robert L. Gilberti.

Graveside services will be at the convenience of the family at Crown Hill Memorial Park, Clinton.
