Ronald L. Alexander, 72, of Irish Road in Marcy, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2009, at his home. He was born on April 9, 1937, son of the late Antonio Alexander and Dorothy Alexander Bowman in Oakland, California. Mr. Alexander graduated in 1956 from U.F.A. He was employed with Mohawk Valley Oil Company as a serviceman until his retirement in 2000 after 27 years with the company. He was formerly married to Kathleen Alexander. Mr. Alexander was a member of St. Leo-St. Anne Roman Catholic Church in Holland Patent. He was also an active member of senior citizen's groups in Marcy, Remsen, and Floyd. Ronald is survived by his two beloved sons, Scott (Marcia) Alexander of Syracuse and Craig (Amy) Alexander of Buffalo; a cherished grandson, Cole Alexander; two brothers, Jerome (Ethel) Alexander of Floyd and Anthony Alexander of California; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by special, lifelong friends, Donald and Carol Keck and family. He was predeceased by his parents, step-father, Charles Bowman and brother, Lawrence Alexander. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Bentz and Amodio Funeral Service, 470 French Road, Utica/New Hartford, NY from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will commence on Friday, April 17, 2009 at 9 a.m. from the funeral home where prayer will be offered and at 10 a.m. at St. Leo's Catholic Church, 7939 Elm Street, Holland Patent where a memorial mass will be celebrated with the Rev.
