Obituary

Rudolph (Rudy) Gambino, 89, of New York City, passed away Monday, January 31, 2011. He was born May 11, 1921, in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Frank and Josephine Donigi Gambino and received his education in New York City. He was a US Army veteran of WW II. On February 28, 1948, in New York City, he married Carmen Codispoti, a loving union of 61 years. She passed away March 17, 2009. Mr. Gambino was an Inspector for the NY Central Railroad in New York City. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Good Council Church and was a life member of the Mill Rock VFW Post #716, both in New York City. He is survived by a brother, Arthur Gambino of Brooklyn; a sister-in-law, Grace Mandich of Utica; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:00 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish, Utica. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours are Friday from 5-7 PM at the Bentz & Amodio Funeral Service, Inc., 470 French Rd., Utica/New Hartford.
