Sarah (Sally) Hazard, 97, of Swamp Rd., North Brookfield, a lifelong area resident, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton. She was born August 26, 1913, in Bridgewater, the daughter of the late Albert and Catherine Evans Henry. On September 1, 1933, in Norwich, she married her beloved Kenneth L. Hazard. He passed away October 22, 1993. For 27 years, Mrs. Hazard was employed with the Waterville Knitting Mill. She was a member of the North Brookfield Baptist Church. Sally was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, whose skilled needlework kept the hands and feet of her family warm throuhgout the cold winters. She is survived by a son, Donald Hazard of Waterville; a daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and James Kelly of Blossvale; a sister, Rachel Byron of Indianapolis, IN; nine grandchildren, Yvonne, Kenneth, Donna, Janice, Nicki, Coleen, Caren, Catherine and Donald; as well as many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock at the Kloster-Northrop & Bentz Funeral Home, 210 E. Main St., Waterville, with Pastor Edward Whitehead officiating. Interment will be Wednesday in North Brookfield Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are Tuesday evening from 4-7, prior to the service. The family would like to thank her special friend and neighbor, Ellen Maine, for all the special care and friendship given to Sally over the years.
