Mrs. Sophie O. Mock, 97, of the Masonic Care Community, formerly of Whitesboro, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. She was born March 4, 1916, in Utica, the daughter of the late Alex and Mary Parobij Onyszczak and was educated in local schools. On June 1, 1940, at St. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Church, Utica, she married Cleon E. Mock. He passed away January 19, 1969. Mrs. Mock was a former parishioner of St. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Church, Utica. She is survived by several devoted nieces and nephews. Per her request, services will be private and at the convenience of the family at the Bentz Funeral Service, Inc., 470 French Road, Utica/New Hartford, with Rev. Mark Kaminski officiating. Interment will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park, Clinton. There will be no calling hours. The family extends many many thanks to the caring and thoughtful staff of the Masonic Care Community, for their wonderful care and compassion.
