Stephen Cowen, died on Friday, August 6, 2021, at Crouse Hospital. Son of the late Max and Leni Cowen, Stephen graduated from New Hartford High School and worked for Chicago Supermarkets and retired from Max L. Cowen's Student Stores. After retiring, he volunteered at the Parkway and New Hartford Senior Centers. He is survived by his two sisters, Judi (Randy) Kahn and Terrye (Irv) Perlman; four nieces, Randi, Kori, Stacey and Lisa. He will be dearly missed by his pool buddies, fellow volunteers and friends, especially longtime friend of 58 years, Robert Monahan. Judi and Terrye would like to offer a special thank you to Stephen's brother-in-law, Irv Perlman, for the extraordinary support and care he gave to Stephen. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at 11:30 a.m., in Temple Emanu-El Cemetery, New Hartford. Arrangements are with Mark C. Bentz Funeral Services, Inc., New Hartford.
