Theresa Rose
Meislin
August 23, 1954 – May 14, 2026
Temple Emanu-El
2:00 - 3:00 pm (Eastern time)
Theresa Rose Meislin passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Terri was predeceased by her parents, John Picente and Sarah Mikalajunas; her brother, David Picente; her in-laws, Sol and Judy Meislin; her brothers-in-law, Neil Meislin (Deanna) and Marty Meislin; and her longtime friend, Diane DeLemo.
She leaves behind her devoted husband of 48 years, David Meislin, whom she married on June 4, 1978, at Temple Emanu-El in Utica, NY. Their love story began by chance while boarding a cruise ship, where David’s youthful charm first won Terri’s heart. From that moment on, they were inseparable. David remained steadfastly by her side, honoring their vows with unwavering love and devotion through every chapter of their lives, including her final days.
Terri is survived by her loving children, Brandon Meislin and Lindsay Meislin, who were her pride and joy. She was a fiercely devoted and wonderful mother who would move heaven and earth to do anything for her children. She is also survived by her beloved daughter-in-law, Kim, Brandon’s wife, whom Terri loved as her own. Their bond was deep and special, and Terri often expressed how grateful she was to have such a caring and devoted daughter-in-law by her side.
Her greatest joy in life was being “Gigi” to her cherished granddaughter, Emily Rose Meislin, daughter of Brandon and Kim. Emily was truly the light of her life. Nothing made Terri happier than watching her dance, cheer, compete in gymnastics, ice skating, color, or discovering something new. Their weekend sleepovers and special time together were among Terri’s most treasured moments, and being Emily’s Gigi was one of her life’s greatest blessings.
Terri is also survived by her sister, Susanna Mikalajunas; her brothers, Frank Canorro and Joe Mikalajunas (Vicki); her sisters-in-law, Debra Meislin and JoAnne Meislin; and her brothers, Thomas and Michael Mikalajunas.
Her niece, Deborah Day, held a uniquely special place in Terri’s heart—not only as her niece, but as a confidant and sister in spirit. Terri cherished her close relationship with Deborah, her husband Jim, and their children, Jason, Corey, and Alexandra Durante (Anthony).
She will also be deeply missed by her dear friends Mary Lourdes Leone, known as “Goodsie,” and Mary Ellen Luker and her family. Together they shared many cherished trips, laughter, and lasting memories.
Terri leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
Terri graduated from business school and began her career working alongside Larry George as he established his law practice on James Street. Together, they made a remarkable team. During that time, she even brought her infant son Brandon to work with her for his first six months. Later, Terri chose to step away from the workforce to care for children in her home, providing loving childcare to family and friends. The children she cared for adored her and fondly remember her playful traditions—like the “lip clip” and “dust busting” their laps after lunchtime.
She later joined the Brindisi, Murad, Brindisi & Pearlman Law Firm, where she worked diligently for nearly 28 years. More than a valued employee, Terri became family. She was a highly respected and superior legal secretary, well known within the legal community for her dedication and work ethic. It was not uncommon to see her car in the parking lot on weekends, as she took great pride in her work and refused to leave anything unfinished. Her loyalty extended far beyond her duties—she deeply cared for the people she worked with, especially “LTB,” as she affectionately called Louis Brindisi.
Outside of the office, Terri lived her life with energy, warmth, and care for the people and things she loved most. She enjoyed staying active, often starting her mornings with long walks alongside her dear friend Ellie, or attending aerobics classes after work. She found great joy in baking and was truly exceptional in the kitchen—an avid baker whose desserts were the highlight of every special occasion. Her baking was simply the best, and it will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to enjoy it. She also loved cooking for her family, preparing delicious weekend meals that brought everyone together and created lasting memories.
Terri treasured life’s quieter moments as well. She loved reading each night before bed, especially fantasy and witch-themed series that allowed her to escape into other worlds. She cherished time spent with friends—going out to lunch, shopping, and enjoying each other’s company—and took great pride in keeping her home immaculate, with everything always perfectly in place.
Terri also had a deep love for her animals. Some of her favorite moments were the simple ones—spending evenings on the couch with them by her side. Each of her pets held a special place in her heart, and they brought her immense comfort, companionship, and joy.
Above all, Terri cherished every moment spent with her granddaughter, Emily. Whether it was a simple day together or a special outing, those moments meant everything to her.
Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to the entire Brindisi office for their unwavering love and support throughout Terri’s final days. To Louis and Maria Brindisi, Eva Brindisi Pearlman, Tony Murad, Joe Marino, Michele Mellito, and the entire staff—thank you for embracing Terri as one of your own and for caring for her so deeply over the past 28 years. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.
They would also like to express their deepest thanks to daughter Lindsay and daughter-in-law Kim for the incredible care, strength, and love they gave Terri over the last four months, as well as to the hospice staff—especially Alyssa Curri—for their compassion and support. Her son Brandon, brother Frank, niece Debi, and her dear friend Ellie were constantly by her side, lifting her spirits with laughter and memories of past adventures. Terri was also deeply touched by the love and thoughtfulness of her longtime friend Bonnie Santino, who regularly sent cards filled with their wild, funny, and sometimes downright crazy work memories, and made it a point to visit whenever she was in town. Her unconditional love and support did not go unnoticed and meant so much to Terri and her family. Lastly, to Monique Dembrow, her loyal companion, whose massages, calming presence, and heartfelt conversations brought her comfort throughout the years and soothed her along every step of her journey.
Services will be held at Temple Emanu-El on Wednesday, May 20 at 2:00 p.m. for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Terri’s memory to the Anita Stevens Swan Humane Society or the Herkimer County Humane Society.
Terri will be remembered for her strength, loyalty, warmth, and boundless love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the memories she created, and the deep love she gave so freely. She will be missed beyond words and loved forever.
