Tyra K. Ivins, 67, of Utica, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at her home.

She was born December 15, 1957, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Howard and Shirlee Grimes Griner.  Tyra sold Tupperware and collected and sold antiques.  She was involved with the Utica Rescue Mission.

Surviving are four sons, including Thomas Griner, Sr. and Vincent Clarke, both of Utica; a sister, Samantha Tantillo of Utica; three grandchildren; a close friend and caregiver, Theresa Weston; and her friends at the Michael Walsh Apartments.  She was predeceased by a sister, Bridgett Griner.

A celebration and service will be held Friday, July 25 at 3:30 pm at Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 1123 Court at York Streets, Utica, with Rev. Thomas Servatius officiating.  Visitation will be from 2-3:30 pm, prior to the service.
