(Steirn) Socolof
January 9, 1955 – March 15, 2025
Vicki Lynn Socolof, 70, of Ilion, passed away Saturday evening, March 15, 2025 at Wynn Hospital.
Vicki was born in Huntington, West Virginia on January 9, 1955, the daughter of Coleman and Rena (Cantor) Steirn. She was a graduate of Huntington High School, earned a bachelor's degree in early childhood education at West Virginia University and a master's degree in special education at Marshall University.
She was employed at ABC Express, and for 17 years in the pediatric practice of the late Dr. Dennis Maser. Vicki was active in her children's pursuits, helping to organize the cookie sale for Rebeccah's Girl Scout troop as well as serving as treasurer for Jerome's Boy Scout troop. Vicki was deeply involved with Temple Beth Joseph in Herkimer, serving on its Board of Trustees for decades. She was also a past President of the Temple's Sisterhood and a past regional officer for Women's League for Conservative Judaism.
Vicki loved her family, miniature tea sets, knick-knacks, jigsaw puzzles, traveling, and coloring, not necessarily in that order.
Vicki was predeceased by her parents; and one sister, Roselyn Else. She is survived by her loving husband, Kalman; a daughter, Rebeccah Socolof of New Britain, CT; and a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Jerome Socolof and Kathryn Gigliotti of Adams, MA; as well as three sisters, Brenda (Mark) Altus, Dr. Janice Steirn and Stephanie Steirn.
Funeral services will be held at Temple Beth Jospeh in Herkimer on Wednesday, March 19 at 10 am, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery following immediately. Shiva services will be observed at her home on Wednesday and Thursday at 7 pm and again on Sunday thru Tuesday at 7 pm.
