Wendy was welcomed by singing Angels into Heaven on September 6, 2024. Born on July 29, 1966 in Utica NY to the proud parents of Conway and Dawn. Becoming the oldest child of four. She was raised in Brookfield, moved to Sherburne and then Smyrna. She later moved to Cold Brook and married Gary Greiner Sr. on June 10, 2006. They shared a wonderful life together and in 2015 relocated to Kearneysville, WV making a home that included their son, Gary Jr. and grandsons, Fred and Julio along with her beloved pets, Elroy and Rick.
Wendy was kind and generous always willing to help in any way she could, could be a call in 2 am and she would come no question asked, she was funny and was known for her quick-witted responses. We all loved her famous sayings and being there for her family and friends.
Wendy loved all music and could name any tune within seconds of hearing a note. She never lost a round of music trivia. She loved to travel and was always up for any adventure on the bucket list. She enjoyed listening to music while mowing her lawn ensuring the lawn was perfect. Wendy's favorite holiday was Thanksgiving, she would always set the table using her fine china and fancy napkins and enjoyed preparing and eating with her family.
Wendy cherished her time spent with family and looked forward to the yearly family camp. During family camp week, fun filled with adventures and lots of food and making memories. She loved to read and collected any novel by Anne Rice, but would read anything on paper. She had an interest in History with world wars, reading anything to expand her knowledge.
Wendy always supported her children, no matter what was needed from homework to sports regardless of the weather. Attending school functions and supporting fund raisers to ensure her children had the necessary tools to complete their education and safely play sports. She was extremely proud of her children's successes, as well as her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Wendy was the best big sister, always listening and giving advice when asked. She was loved very much and will be greatly missed.
Wendy is survived by beloved family, husband Gary Sr.; mother, Dawn; her children, Salina, Mark, Jolene, Megan, Rachel, Gary Jr., Kelly, Birdie and Gail; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Siblings, Holly & Darren, Carissa & Marco, and Joe & Shari. Nieces and nephews, Dani, Levi, Ashley, Amanda, Patrick, Sunne, Tia and Kyra; and many great nieces and nephews. Her two Best friends, a cousin could ever have, Theresa and Cindy; along with an extended family of cousins and friends . Wendy is also survived by her friends and co- workers at MetLife.
Wendy was welcomed by her Dad, Conway "Big Joe"; her Bonus Dad, Earl; daughter, April; and her beloved Elroy G.
Calling hours will be Friday, September 13, 2024 from 1-3 pm at the Mark C. Bentz Funeral Service, Inc., 13 Oxford Road, New Hartford, followed by a graveside service in South Brookfield Cemetery at 3:30.
