On the morning of January 26, 2022, Bill passed peacefully and suddenly while vacationing in Florida with loved ones, Joanne, Butch and Marti. He was born June 1, 1951, in Utica to our wonderful parents, William and Patricia Parry Wrape (deceased), attending local schools, growing up in the Catholic faith and graduating from Buffalo State. Bill was the middle child of four sisters who treasured his continual and ever present love and support. He had a welcoming smile, an attentive ear and heart, ready to help, to be there anytime, anyplace. He went out of his way to keep in touch with each of us, along with his brothers-in-law and his daughter and family, Jennifer and Christopher Nagle and children Levi and Athena. On August 27, 1993 he married the love of his life, Marti Mino. After some time apart, and while continuing to celebrate their anniversary date every year, Bill and Marti reunited in their long-lasting relationship. Throughout his career, Bill was an outstanding 3 sport athlete at UFA and excelled in baseball at Buffalo State. He taught math and coached high school sports, eventually retiring from New York State Correctional Services as an Education Supervisor. He was guided by his faith in God, loved the Yankees and planned his schedule around the Syracuse Orange. He loved music of all types, and enjoyed watching the sun rise and sun sets at Sylvan Beach, Myrtle Beach and Florida. His unique personality drew many lifelong friends to his side. His hand was continually outstretched, " Hi, I'm Bill Wrape, where are you from?" His generosity and fun way, especially with all the children and grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins, was a continual blessing. He never missed a phone call, gathering, birthday, or anniversary and all looked forward to being with him. He was a steadying hand upon our shoulder. Bill loved golf, and everyone he ever played with or against, up and down the East Coast was special to him, especially The Goodfellows league. He championed many tournaments and recently was most proud of his Fourth Hole In One! He leaves behind many, many special friends too numerous to list. You know who you are! Bill leaves to mourn, his four sisters, Joanne (Anthony) Butch Sisti, Barbara Custodero, Patricia Cloutier, and Sundy (Jon) Horn; and Marti Mino Wrate; special cousins, Eileen and Philip LoGalbo; and beloved nieces and nephews, Anthony Sisti, Jessica Mortensen, Jennifer Forrester, Matthew Cloutier, Patrick Horn, Sara Brown and Mick Custodero. Forever in his heart, Bill was predeceased by his parents; in-laws, Larry Custodero, Natalie and Leonard Mino, and Shawn Carroll. Services will be Saturday, February 19 at 3 pm at the Mark C. Bentz Funeral Service, Inc., 13 Oxford Road, New Hartford, with Rev. Joseph Salerno officiating. Calling hours will be Saturday from 1 - 3 pm, prior to the service.
